Rage Promotional Edition July 2011 Arvid Nelson; Andrea Mutti Books
"Rage - After the Impact" is a three part graphic novel based on the "Rage" video game from id software, written by Arvid Nelson and illustrated by Andrea Mutti, Pierluigi Baldassini and Michael Atiyeh. The year is 2095 and it's been nearly 60 years since Asteroid 99942, code-named Apophis, crashed into the Earth, decimating 5 billion of the world's population. Yet there were survivors. Beneath the earth's surface numerous containment facilities called "Arks" were constructed to give humanity a second chance. Key groups of people were loaded into the Arks to emerge when the destruction of Apophis subsided. When the time came for mankind to resurface they found the world a far more different and dangerous place than when they entered cryosleep. This is the brief story of Elizabeth, a nanotrite scientist, her emergence from an Ark and the grim realization that the world she once new is gone. Here are my thoughts on Rage - After the Impact;Pros
+ Adult storyline with graphic scenes of blood, gore and violence.
+ Story ties in directly with the Rage video game.
+ Well illustrated.
+ Quick read.
Cons <Contains SPOILERS>
+ Story gives away a few key plot elements of the game. You may want to play through roughly half of the game first before reading this graphic novel.
+ Elizabeth's discovery regarding the loss of her family isn't as emotionally charged as it should be.
+ Asking price is too high considering the short length of the work.
Although short, I really enjoyed reading "Rage - After the Impact." Learning back stories for both Elizabeth and Doctor Kvasir helped give their characters more depth in the game when you actually meet them. I also appreciated seeing things from the Authorities point of view since in the game you're part of the Resistance and are never party to the aspect of the opposition. The regular retail price is the only reason I wouldn't recommend this graphic novel to everyone as it's a bit too expensive for how short of a work you get. If you're a fan of the Rage video game and want to learn a bit more lore of the world and how it came to be then "Rage - After the Impact" is worth a look. Just don't expect the information to be lengthy.

Rage Promotional Edition July 2011 Arvid Nelson; Andrea Mutti Books Reviews
If you like the Rage saga I would buy this graghic novel. I enjoyed it came on time and was in excellent shape.
loved the game, only wish it was a bit longer but over great and the book helped to fill in some gabs about certain characters
The comic book provided me with what the novel failed to deliver. Instead of trying to recreate the events of the video game it tells its own story (happening before the said game), which adds some depth to Rage's world. The only flaw is the fact that the story is rather short. Apart from that, it certainly is worth a look.
I recommend it to anyone who played and liked the video game.
A great opening story for a great game. It was fun to seeing origins of characters from the game. I just wish they had made more of these books.
the arts not bad and it does cover some of the back story to a couple of essential characters and the events in the Dead city. though i was hoping for more it was limited by only being three issues. i love the game but it left me wanting more story. so much is mentioned in the game that does not get covered this graphic novel does help to wet the appetite a bit. if your a collector and really into this game as i am, go for it. i have no regrets.
